We first offer our dutiful greetings to your blessedness, wishing that this letter may be presented to your venerable gaze through the grace of Divinity, and that the strength of your Church may bring forth blessings for your life, so that the vigilant state of the Church may be protected against its adversaries and rabid dogs. Indeed, venerable father, it is fitting for the vicars of the glorious Apostle Peter, to whom the Lord entrusted the duty of tending His sheep, to be concerned with the integrity of our faith.
Therefore, let your holy concern for us know that we firmly hold to the unwavering stability of the true faith, for which we have resisted thus far to prevent its sanctity from being violated. What your pontificate has commanded for the sake of such a pious cause, we have, as much as we were able, continuously sought to admonish the adversaries with a spirit of gentleness, and with the grace of God cooperating with us… (the rest is missing).
