The Early Church and Peter's Primacy

Letter Euphemia Augusta to Hormisdas

Synopsis: She commends herself and her husband to the prayers of the most holy pontiff.

Euphemia Augusta to Pope Hormisdas,

I received the letters of your blessedness with a grateful and joyful heart. For whose words would not be received with the most willing ears, given that not only the authority of the Apostolic See exalts you, but also the integrity of your life and your diligent commitment to the true faith? Therefore, I earnestly ask and encourage you that my name may never be absent from your prayers, and especially the name of my most serene husband. May your prayers obtain divine protection for both of us and for the republic as well.
