Hormisdas to Anastasia.
After our God has strengthened the members of His Church in the peace to which they have returned, we have long desired to see your struggles… Rejoicing that this has come to pass, we also continually pray to the divine mercy that, as He has gladly accepted these first fruits of the kingdom, He may always assist the faith of a good prince with every affection of prosperity, and may He guard both him and all of you in the holy love of religion. May the faith of those who have cast away the error of the most wicked dissension flourish on earth, so that the reward of eternal salvation may follow.
Now, therefore, join your prayers with ours, and implore with all your strength from God, that all Churches may follow the example of this correction, so that the devil may have no cause for rejoicing that anything remains to him, whom our concord has nearly entirely driven out (in the year of our Lord 519).
