Hormisdas to the noble Gratus.
Your silence has saddened us, for amid any occupation, you should not have forgotten us. Therefore, so that we may not appear to fall into what we reproach in you, it was necessary to take up the work of this present letter, through which we greet your nobility with honor, requesting that you do not cease to inform us of your well-being, because with the mercy of our God, we desire to know the good news of your safety by any means.
