To my ever-blessed lord, most revered by the Apostolic See, and to my father among fathers, Pope Hormisdas, whom I equate with angelic merits, Andrew.
Commending myself most humbly to your pious feet, I inform you concerning the Synod of New Epirus, that they pretended to anathematize certain persons among themselves. They used this deceitful method only to entrap themselves in their own malice, against which the Divine Trinity resisted through your holy prayers. When they were caught in their wickedness, we could never persuade the archbishop to turn to the path of truth and to your commands.
But now, when the most blessed and holy lords, the bishops, and deacons sent by your holy crown arrived, the blessed bishop Trojus of Scampis welcomed them with all joy and lights. And, having presented the document according to your command, they were immediately received in the peace of Christ and celebrated Mass with the bishop in the city of Scampis. Seeing what was done at Scampis, those in Lignidus followed in the same manner.
Now, while we were arranging these letters, Magistrianus arrived from the city of Constantinople, who reported that, by God’s mercy and through your holy prayers, the Constantinopolitans have anathematized Acacius and celebrated Easter in peace. What remains, your intercession must labor with God, so that we, servants of the Apostolic See, may be found complete. The letters which the aforementioned blessed bishops sent to my humble self, I have also forwarded to your piety. Received on the day above mentioned.
