Hormisdas to Germanus and John, bishops, Felix and Dioscorus, deacons, and Blando, priest.
We give thanks to our God for the matters included in the report of your charity, which details what has been accomplished, recognizing that He has deigned to support your efforts. We encourage you to take up the appropriate duties with the most merciful prince and his most pious consort, the Augusta, and to act, with the help of Christ, in arranging all matters under ecclesiastical observance so that all Churches, in whatever part of the world they are situated, may be brought back to communion with the Apostolic See.
Especially concerning the Churches of Alexandria and Antioch, strive to ensure that they are connected to our faith under reasonable observance, for the completion of such a great matter will gain the favor of divine propitiation for both the most merciful prince and yourselves.
Given under the consulship of the most illustrious Eutharicus (in the year of our Lord 519).
