To the holy and most blessed father of fathers, Hormisdas, Archbishop of the Universal Church, from Anastasia.
We rightfully proclaim that the grace of divine light has shone upon us, acknowledging the reverence of your apostolate in our holy heart with a declaration on this page. For with true hope, we confidently trust in the propitiation of divine mercy through the intercession of your pontifical office, O most blessed lord and father, to be received with apostolic honor. The vigilant watches of your prayers, and the marvelous faith of the most victorious prince, always shining with Catholic splendor, have restored the long-awaited peace and harmony to the holy churches, a triumph solidly established by all your triumphs, justly exulting in having upheld the invincible banner.
Therefore, let the unblemished sanctity of your fatherhood continually offer prayers and supplications to Almighty God for the safety and prosperity of our aforementioned lord, the Emperor, with unwavering persistence, that He may graciously be pleased to preserve the ineffable grace of such great blessings which He Himself has inspired in the holy mind of the Emperor, for the advancement of future happiness.
Let prayer also be kindly offered by your pontificate for your son by marriage and for me, your special devotee, together with the offspring which the Lord has deigned to grant us, so that by the intercession of your favor, the protection of divine favor may mercifully shine upon us. (In the year of our Lord 519)
